Beijing has two major international airports on different sides of the city. PEK is Beijing Capital International Airport; PKX is Beijing Daxing International Airport. Confusing them can add major cost and travel time.
PEK: Beijing Capital International Airport
PEK is northeast of central Beijing and is generally more convenient for Liangmaqiao, the embassy area and eastern Chaoyang. Hilton Beijing Capital Airport is beside the Terminal 3 area. If a hotel advertises a shuttle, confirm the current terminal, pickup point and operating time directly with the hotel.
PKX: Beijing Daxing International Airport
PKX is south of the city. It can be practical for southern Beijing, but it is far from PEK. Hilton Beijing Daxing is in Daxing District but is not an airport-terminal hotel, so do not select it solely because the names match.
Private transfer, taxi or rail
A private transfer offers a named pickup and can help after a long flight. Official taxis are flexible, while airport rail can avoid road traffic if luggage and onward connections are manageable. Choose based on arrival time, group size, luggage and hotel area.
What to send before pickup
Provide the airport code, flight number, scheduled arrival, terminal if known, passenger count, luggage estimate and the hotel's full English and Chinese name. International arrivals need time for immigration and baggage, so avoid promises based only on landing time.
Late arrivals and delays
Use a reachable messaging channel and confirm how waiting time is handled. Flight monitoring can help, but immigration delays are not always visible from the flight status. Keep the hotel phone number and booking reference available offline.
