A landside hotel only works if immigration permits entry. Airline routing, nationality, documents and onward travel determine the plan—not the hotel booking alone.
Airside versus landside
Most Beijing airport hotels are landside. If you cannot or do not want to pass immigration, ask the airport and airline about airside options before booking.
24-hour and 240-hour transit
China's transit policies have eligibility and routing rules. Beijing's official guide currently describes 240-hour visa-free transit for eligible travelers with confirmed onward travel to a third country or region.
Six, twelve and twenty-four hours
A six-hour connection may leave little usable hotel time after immigration, baggage and security. Longer overnight connections are more realistic for a hotel.
PEK and PKX
Use the airport code. Hilton Beijing Capital Airport serves PEK; Hilton Garden Inn Beijing Daxing International Airport serves the PKX area.
Late arrival and luggage
Confirm reception hours, shuttle pickup, no-show handling and luggage storage. A booking confirmation does not guarantee immigration entry.
