Beijing travel planning

Choose the right Beijing area before comparing hotel rates

A lower room price can be poor value if you spend hours crossing Beijing. Start with the places you must visit, then compare hotels within the area that fits most of your itinerary.

Wangfujing and Dongcheng for historic Beijing

Wangfujing is a useful base for many first-time visitors. Hilton Beijing Wangfujing and Waldorf Astoria Beijing put you near shopping and the historic center. Choose this area when your priorities are central sightseeing and a straightforward leisure base, while remembering that attraction tickets and opening rules are separate from your hotel booking.

Chaoyang for business, embassies and Sanlitun

Hilton Beijing and Conrad Beijing are in eastern Chaoyang. This side of the city is often more practical for embassy appointments, CBD meetings and Sanlitun. Ask for the exact distance to your meeting address; two hotels described as central can still produce very different commutes.

PEK airport for a connection—not a full city itinerary

Hilton Beijing Capital Airport can remove stress from an early departure, late arrival or overnight connection at PEK. It is not the best default for several days of central sightseeing. Confirm that your flight uses PEK rather than PKX.

Daxing for southern Beijing plans

Hilton Beijing Daxing can fit an itinerary based in southern Beijing. It is not located at the PKX terminal. Compare ground travel to your actual destination before assuming that a Daxing name means airport convenience.

A practical way to compare

List your two most important addresses, flight airport, preferred bed type and cancellation needs. Then compare the total price, breakfast, tax treatment and flexibility. Our quotation service can organize those details, but it does not replace your own comparison with official public rates.

Common questions

Before you request a quote

Which area is best for a first-time Beijing visitor?+

Wangfujing and central Dongcheng are strong starting points for many sightseeing itineraries. Your best area still depends on the attractions and appointments you prioritize.

Which area is better for business travel?+

Chaoyang is often practical for the CBD, embassies and Sanlitun. Use your actual meeting address rather than the word central when comparing.

Should I stay near the airport?+

An airport hotel is useful for a connection or difficult flight time. For a multi-day city trip, compare the total daily travel time with a central hotel.
